Our First Gouldians

This is my very first Gouldian purchased in February 1995, named after the Aztec Emperor, Montezuma.

There was no doubt that Monte indeed ruled his colony for almost 9 years and many times he would sleep outside in the bushes and somehow survived the Melbourne Winters.

This was the last photograph I ever took of Monte during the Winter of 2001.

Our Gouldian colony to this day descend from Monte.

This is our very first female Gouldian named Arethusa, purchased with Monte. They were great parents raising many successful nests. This photo was taken in 1998 on the waterfall ledge in our old garden aviary.
