The Journey of Swift Heath
Initially, in 2004, the gardens, named Evermore, were designed and built from muddy cow paddocks on a gently sloping hillside by the previous owners, Reg and Cheryl.
The transformation of the land is a testament to their vision and dedication. What started as a blank canvas has since evolved into a hidden bird sanctuary, echoing the beauty and tranquility of the Jumbunna hillside, with panoramic views of the Strzelecki Ranges.
Our journey with this property began in July 2020 when we purchased it and named it Swift Heath. The name reflects our deep ancestral ties to the renowned Irish satirist, Jonathan Swift, who is famously known for his work, "Gulliver's Travels." The rolling green hills of Jumbunna remind us of Ireland, and it felt only fitting to honor our heritage through the names and features of our garden.
To maintain our connection and love for Ireland and Jonathan Swift, we have carefully named key features of the garden. Each name holds a special significance, strengthening our bond with the land and history.
We have been so fortunate to form a lasting and close friendship with Reg and Cheryl. It is always exciting when they visit to see what we have done in the garden.

Ironically, one of our favorite old-time films is "The Secret Garden." Now, having our own secret garden feels like a dream come true.
